Hurricane Nate (ACTIVE: October 6th - October 9th)

Information: Hurricane Nate is a Category 1 hurricane that has made landfall in Southern Louisiana and Mississippi. This storm is fast moving at roughly 25 MPH and should only affect areas with hurricane force winds for a short duration. This storm is expected to move out of the area quickly and cause flooding and wind damage.

Timetable: Hurricane Nate is has made landfall as of 7:00 PM Central Time on Saturday, October 7th.

Activation Status: Hurricane Nate is currently an active event in the system as it is expected to make landfall in Louisiana and Mississippi.

Reentry will depend on the status of various parishes and counties across both states. We will work to bring updates regarding access as soon as they are received.

Hurricane Harvey (ACTIVE: August 27th - September 4th)

Information: Hurricane Harvey is a Tropical Cyclone that has recently crossed the Yucatan Peninsula and reformed in the Southwestern portion of the Gulf of Mexico. The Cyclone is on a path to directly impact Houston, TX and possibly continue Eastward into Louisiana.

Timetable: Hurricane Harvey is planned to make landfall in Southeastern Texas on Saturday, August 26th with the possibility of landfall in Louisiana on Sunday August 27th.

Activation Status: Hurricane Harvey is currently an Active Event in the JSOP Personnel Management System, any information regarding checkpoints or access levels will be communicated as soon as they are available. Any active checkpoints will be operated by the Louisiana State Police in addition to supporting law enforcement and military agencies.

All Activation is currently locally centered in various parishes based off of severe flooding and/or wind damage.

Tropical Storm Cindy (ACTIVE: June 22nd - 25th)

Information: Tropical Storm Cindy is a Tropical Cyclone currently located in the Gulf of Mexico. The storm is expected to affect Louisiana, Mississippi, and East parts of Texas. Southern and Central Louisiana should expect the full force of the storm, Mississippi should expect potentially severe flooding in the Southern and Central part of the state.

Timetable: Tropical Storm Cindy has made landfall on the Texas/Louisiana border with major rainfall occuring on the eastern edge of storm.  (Up to Date Information: National Hurricane Center)
